agoo.reviews

Honest reviews of the places you use. A score nobody can buy.

Agoo Reviews is an open review platform for Ghana and Africa, at agoo.reviews. Anyone with an account confirmed by phone or email can review any business, every review carries a label saying how it was checked, and money never changes a score, the order of reviews or a place in search.

Reading is open to everyone, with no account. Run a business? Manage your page in Agoo

Why it’s different

A review site that answers to readers.

Every business on Agoo Reviews is held to the same rules, whether it pays Agoo or has never heard of it.

Nobody can buy a better score

Money never changes a score, the order of reviews or a place in search.

Nothing on a page is for sale: no paid placements or featured spots, no paid badges, no pinned reviews. It’s built into Agoo Reviews itself. The part that works out scores and search order can’t see plans, payments or whether a business uses Agoo.

Eban, the fence: it keeps a family safe from the outside.
  • Every review says how it was checked

A label on each review says what was confirmed about the person behind it, from a real Agoo check-in or booking down to a confirmed email. Readers can narrow a page to one label; the score stays the same.

  • Made for Ghana, and for Africa

Agoo’s own categories, written for the places people use here: banks and mobile money points, clinics, schools, shops, guest houses and chop bars. Each branch shows its town, and its GhanaPost digital address where it’s known. Search suggests places, categories and towns as you type; every category is a click away; Top rated lists follow one published rule; and what Agoo’s editors feature is labelled and never sold. Browse by town and region, from Accra to Tamale, and read plain guides on spotting a fake review and taking a complaint to the right regulator.

  • Built for the phone in your hand

Sign in with a code by text or email, with no password. Pages stay light on a budget phone and a busy network. The Agoo Reviews app for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets carries the same pages, natively: write with your words kept on the phone if the network drops, and a notification when a business replies.

Verification labels

Every review says how it was checked.

A label says what was confirmed about the person behind a review, never that the review is true. Readers can narrow any page to one label, and the score stays the same: labels never move it.

How scores work
  1. Verified visitAgoo’s own record shows a check-in or booking at this place. The strongest label, and only possible where the place uses Agoo.
  2. Invited by the businessThe business sent its review link to all its customers, with no choosing.
  3. Phone confirmedThe reviewer’s account has a confirmed phone number.
  4. Email confirmedThe reviewer’s account has a confirmed email address.
  5. Proof seen by AgooAdded to any label when, after a question about a review, Agoo saw proof of the visit, such as a receipt.

For readers

Read what people really say, then decide.

Search by name, category or town, and put the results in the order you choose: best match, most reviewed, highest score or newest reviews. Each place shows its score with how it was worked out, the spread of stars, how its reviews were checked, and how often and how quickly the business replies. Reading is open to everyone, with no account.

  • Each business shows its logo, its photos, what it offers, its opening hours with whether it’s open now, and how to call, WhatsApp or find it
  • Ask a business a question on its page; its own answer is marked From the business, beside other customers’ answers
  • Search a page’s reviews and narrow them by stars, topic, branch, date, language, a reply or Verified visits only; the score stays the same
  • An AI summary of what reviewers say, every line linked to its reviews, free and the same for every business
  • Mark reviews Useful, save places, sort them into lists to keep or share by link, and follow them for new reviews and replies; share any review with its own page
  • No featured, sponsored or promoted places, ever: nobody chooses or pays for a spot
  • Write a review with a free account, confirmed by a code by text or email, with no password
  • Show as a first name and initial, such as Kofi M., or a name you choose; keep your profile private, and delete your account and its reviews at any time
  • Add a business that’s missing, and report a review that breaks the rules

For businesses

Answer every review. Never hide one.

Every business can claim its page free, correct its facts, reply to any review in public and flag one that breaks the published rules. Agoo organisations that serve the public get their page 14 days after their Owner and Admins are told, or straight away if they choose to open it now, with every branch listed, and manage it in the Console under Feedback → Public reviews, or on the move in the Agoo Workspace app. No business can edit, hide, reorder or pay to remove a review.

  • Replies, flags and legal notices are free for every business, paying or not
  • Answers to customers’ questions and up to 30 photos of your place, free, each photo checked by a person before it shows
  • Alerts for new reviews, and an overview of your score, its trend and your reply rate
  • Agoo organisations hear of each new review in the Agoo Workspace app, and reply or flag it from the phone; any business can do the same from the Agoo Reviews app
  • Message a reviewer who allows it, through Agoo, to put things right: you never see their contact details
  • Ask everyone or no one: invitations never pick out the happy customers
  • Insights, website widgets, AI reply drafts and branch comparisons come with the paid review tools
  • Leaving Agoo keeps your page open; only the Verified visit label stops

Review invitations

Ask every customer. Never a chosen few.

Turn invitations on and Agoo asks everyone whose visit checks out, or whose booking ends, to review the branch they came to, a few hours later and in your organisation’s name. Customers who never check in can be invited too: type them in, upload a list from your till or booking system, copy your forwarding address into your receipts, or hand out single-use links after a sale. A review from a visit or booking that Agoo recorded is labelled Verified visit; one from any other invitation, Invited.

  • Everyone or no one: each time you invite, you confirm you aren’t choosing anyone by what they might say
  • Email on every level (50 a month on Basic, 1,000 on Reviews Plus, 5,000 on Reviews Business), SMS from Reviews Plus, and WhatsApp on Reviews Business for visitors who chose it
  • One reminder three days on, if the link hasn’t been opened, and never more
  • Repeats within 90 days, your own staff and anyone who asked not to be asked are left out
  • Anyone can stop invitations from you, or from every business on Agoo Reviews, in one tap
  • You see totals (sent, opened, became reviews), never which invitation became which review
  • Nothing is ever offered for a review, and Agoo never writes or seeds one

The review QR code

A poster for every branch.

Print the review poster for a counter, a waiting room or the door. Anyone scans it with their phone’s camera and lands on the branch’s page, ready to write. Because anyone can scan a poster, a review from one carries the reviewer’s own label: Verified visit comes only from an invitation after a visit or booking that Agoo recorded.

  • A tracked code for each branch, made in Public reviews or with your other QR codes, with its scans counted
  • Never counted against your tracked QR codes
  • The same poster for everyone: no choosing who gets asked

On your website

Show your reviews where customers already look.

Paste one line of code and your rating badge appears on your own website, free for every business. With Reviews Plus or Reviews Business, add a strip or a carousel of your latest reviews in your colours, or a review form people start on your site and post on agoo.reviews. Websites whose security settings block outside scripts can use a plain frame instead.

  • Every star rating, newest first: nothing you set can pick out the kind reviews
  • No cookies and no tracking: a widget stores nothing and counts no one
  • Always marked as reviews on Agoo, with a link to your page
  • Light, dark or following each visitor’s setting
  • A review started in the form waits a day while the writer signs in on agoo.reviews to post it

Insights and AI reply drafts

Know what people mention. Reply sooner.

Every business sees a performance overview: its score and trend, its reviews, its reply rate and the reviews waiting for a reply, with a free overview by email every Monday. Reviews Plus adds twelve months of trends, the themes people mention, reply times and a monthly report; Reviews Business puts every branch side by side with your category’s benchmark. With AI credits, Agoo drafts a reply to a review, or sums up what people say with suggestions.

  • An AI reply is only ever a draft: you read it, change it and post it yourself
  • The AI never posts, never offers anything for a changed review and never gives contact details
  • A business that drafts replies with AI shows “May use AI-assisted replies” on its page
  • A reply draft takes 1 AI credit and a summary 5, from your plan’s credits first
  • The category benchmark shows only when enough businesses in it have a score, so no one business can be read from it
  • Stop any of these emails with one click, and turn it back on in Public reviews

The reviews API

Your reviews, in your own systems.

With Reviews Business, read your reviews and scores, reply, flag and invite customers from your own systems, and get a webhook the moment a review is published, changed, removed or answered. Nothing in the API can hide, edit, reorder or delete a review.

  • Invite each customer after a sale in your till or booking system, or make single-use links to print on receipts
  • Separate permissions for reading, replying and inviting, on API keys and OAuth apps
  • On Growth and above in live mode, and on every plan in test mode

Review tools

Pay for tools, never for a better page.

Review tools come at three levels, and Agoo plans include one. Paid levels help a business ask more customers and understand what they say. They never touch the page, the score or a place in search.

How scores work

A score anyone can work out.

Every place is scored by the same published formula, from the stars and dates of its published reviews. Nobody can pay to change it, and being an Agoo customer makes no difference.

Hwe Mu Dua, the measuring stick: we check our own work.
  • Everyone starts from the same point

Each place starts as if it already had 5 reviews of 3.5 stars, so one five-star review can’t make a 5.0, and one bad day can’t sink it.

  • Newer reviews count for more

A review counts fully when it’s new, and its weight halves every 12 months.

  • Old reviews stop counting

After 24 months a review stays on the page for the record, but no longer counts in the score.

  • A score shows from 3 reviews

Until then, the page says “No score yet”.

The worked example from the score page on agoo.reviews.

What never counts

  • Money, of any kind
  • Whether a business uses Agoo, and its plan
  • Labels: every review counts the same, whatever its label
  • Replies, and how fast they come
  • Photos, questions and answers, and lists
  • Answers to a business’s private surveys
  • Reviews still being checked, held or removed

Trust and moderation

Moderated by people, to rules everyone can read.

Nkonso Technologies runs Agoo Reviews and moderates it with its own team. The rules are published, decisions come with reasons, and the numbers are reported in the open.

Read the guidelines
  • AI screens first, people decide

Every new review is screened as it arrives. Anything doubtful goes to Ardent’s own moderation team, who decide against the published guidelines. Moderators never change a review’s words.

  • Rules, reasons and appeals

Anyone can report a review, a reply, a photo, a question or answer, or a page, and a business can flag one, free, with extortion handled within a working day. When a review comes down, both sides are told which rule it broke, and a different moderator hears an appeal.

  • Notice and takedown

A formal route for a defamation or privacy complaint, handled as Ghana’s law sets out, with every step on record.

  • A transparency report

How many reviews were published, held and removed, and why, with paying and non-paying businesses counted side by side.

  • Extra care where it matters

Clinics, schools and places of worship open only after a moderator confirms them. Staff there are named by role, and those reviews never show on a reviewer’s profile.

  • What reviewers share stays with us

Reviewers show as a first name and initial, such as Kofi M., or a name they choose. No business ever sees their phone number or email.

  • Claim your free page

A business proves its page is its own with an email at its website’s domain, a code to the phone on the page, a registration document or its Agoo Owner, then replies, answers questions, adds photos, keeps its facts right and invites its team, free. A domain or a registration earns Verified business.

  • Checks for unusual activity

Every review is checked for signs it isn’t genuine, such as many accounts acting together or the same words on different pages. A check holds a review for a person or asks one to look; it never removes one. A sudden flood pauses new reviews of a page for a short while, to every business alike.

  • Reviewers who break the rules

A person decides, never the checks alone: a warning, writing paused for a while, or the account closed, each with the rule broken and a right to appeal.

  • Warnings with their history

When a business games its reviews or threatens reviewers, its page says so, usually for six months, and past warnings stay on the page. A warning never changes the score.

  • Photos checked by a person

A business can add up to 30 photos of its place, products or services, free, and each says who added it. A person at Agoo checks every one before it shows: no people who haven’t agreed, no other business’s photos, no text-heavy adverts, no contact details or prices. Photos never change a score or a place in search.

  • Our own businesses, disclosed

Agoo Reviews is run by Nkonso Technologies. Pages of businesses that belong to or are connected with Nkonso say so, and their reviews follow exactly the same rules.

For readers and reviewers

More than a score.

Everything that helps people find, understand and share honest reviews. Free on every page, the same for every business, and none of it changes a score.

How it works
  • What reviewers say, in a few lines

Pages with enough reviews get an AI summary and the topics people mention most. Every line links to the reviews behind it, it’s never softer than they are, and it’s the same for every business: nobody can pay for it or change it. Clinics, schools and places of worship don’t get one.

  • The branch near you

Every branch has its own page, score and reviews. Find one on a list or a free map, with Near me (worked out on your phone, never sent), Open now in Ghana’s time, Call and Directions. Pages with four or more scored branches show the best and the worst, by the same rule for everyone.

  • Find the reviews that matter to you

Search a page’s reviews for the words you care about, and narrow them by stars, topic, branch, date, language, a reply, or Verified visits only. Sort by newest, oldest, stars or most helpful.

  • Useful, one vote each

Mark the reviews that helped you. One vote per account, with limits so nobody can pile them on. Votes never change a score, and newest stays the order unless you choose “Most helpful”.

  • Prompts and details while you write

Each kind of place suggests what readers want to know, such as “What was the wait like?”, and offers optional stars for parts of a visit: service, value, cleanliness. A page shows each one’s average. The score stays your overall stars.

  • Save, list and follow places

Save places, sort them into lists of your own and share a list by link if you like, never with search engines. Follow any place to hear about new reviews and replies, as it happens, daily or weekly. Businesses never learn who saved, listed or follows them.

  • Ask before you go

Ask a business a question on its page, and read what it and other customers answer, with the business’s own answer marked From the business. The most helpful answers come first, and none of it changes a score. Places that need care don’t have questions.

  • Every review has its own page

Share a review on WhatsApp or anywhere else with its own link and preview image. Reviews in Twi, Ewe, Ga, Hausa, Dagbani, French or Pidgin are recognised, and a free translation is one tap away.

  • Hear from the business, on your terms

Let a business send you a message about your review, if you want it to. Agoo passes it on without your number or email, and you can stop it or report it at any time.
